Mint and Gold Modern Wedding Invitations
Wendi and Jimmy were such a great couple to work with as we created their mint and gold modern wedding invitations.
They planed a destination wedding to Camp David Ranch in Santiago, Dominican Republic for the fourth of July. Their theme was modern, yet romantic. Nothing tropical, or overly formal. Both having been previously married, they wanted a subtle design reflecting the joining of their beautiful blended family.
They had a few inspiration pieces, but were ultimately a clean slate when it came to design preferences. That type of freedom really gets my creative juices flowing. It challenges me more as a designer, and I always produce work that I’m most proud of. That said, I love this design. I typically create a lot of traditional, classic wedding invitations so it was fun to design outside of that box. Also, let me also just say how much I enjoy the name “Wildelinda,” even if she does go by Wendi.
Confession time: before I picked out the font for all of the text, I picked out the ampersand. I mean, look at it! Swirly, and romantic without taking itself too seriously. It perfectly blends skinny curves with thick curves, while ending it’s legs with perfectly round dots, reflecting the dots on the “i”s in the couple’s names. For consistency, I placed it at the lower part of the invitations, in lou of a plain “and.”
The couple also wanted to incorporate a Spanish quote, “”Amar es un combate de relámpagos” which translates to “love is a battle of lightning.”
We printed her invitations on luxurious Crane’s Lettra paper with Gold ink on Mia, our 1893 Chandler & Price platen press. You can read more about her here.
If you would like to order your own sample to see them in person you may do so here.
While we’re based in Columbus, Georgia majority of our brides are located outside of the state of Georgia . We’ve even had the opportunity to create invitations for several international weddings! You can read some of their happy reviews here.
